ANADARKO BASIN
GHK’s long and successful history began in the Anadarko Basin, where the company drilled and operated 137 wells from the 1960’s through the 1980’s – pioneering and leading the industry in the development of large, deep, high-pressure natural gas reserves and setting numerous technological and mechanical world records and industry “firsts.” GHK initiated, engineered and participated in the western world’s two deepest wells from 1972 through 1974: The #1-27 Bertha Rogers well (31,441 feet total depth) and the #1-28 E.R. Baden well (30,050 feet total depth).  In recent years, GHK has returned to the Anadarko Basin, where the company discovered the Indian Field in 2003.  To date, GHK has drilled and completed nearly 30 wells in the Indian Field and has posted a 100% success rate since 2007.  The company has also acquired several hundred square miles of 3D seismic and developed geological and geophysical models of multiple objectives in this gas-prone basin.  GHK plans to continue its deep exploration program and the active “shallow” development program with 14,000’ operated wells across the Indian field.
GHK’s #1-21 Watkins well, 1978, in the Anadarko Basin. GHK was the first to use sintered bauxite (proppant developed by Exxon research) that withstands the compressive stress in deep, high-pressured natural gas reservoirs. The well tested 1.5 million cubic feet of gas per day (mmcfgpd) before frac and produced over 30 mmcfgpd after frac.
